African bee hives surrounded in lavender

This made me think of Joan Eardleys paintings of bee hives but in a more colourful setting. The huge African azure blue sky offset by the vibrant green grass is my favourite kind of palette to work with. I found that the light in Kenya so inspirational it intensifies everything it touches bringing out the most incredible bright hues.
